For years, Project Pikin has been a lifeline for vulnerable girls in Sierra Leone, ensuring that poverty never stands in the way of education. Through school sponsorship, mentorship, life skills training, menstrual hygiene support, and psychosocial care, we have empowered girls to stay in school, excel academically, and become confident leaders in their communities. Today, however, their futures hang in the balance.
Project Pikin is at a pivotal moment. As we transition to new funding partnerships, we urgently need support to ensure that 45 vulnerable girls can return to school this academic year without interruption. Without urgent support before schools reopen, 45 vulnerable girls are at risk of dropping out of school. For many of these girls, our scholarship programme is their only opportunity to receive an education. Losing that opportunity could expose them to early marriage, teenage pregnancy, child labour, and a lifetime of limited opportunities.
We are launching an emergency campaign to raise the funds needed to provide school fees, uniforms, books, bags, stationery, shoes, menstrual hygiene kits, transportation, and continued mentoring for all 45 scholars. Our goal is simple: to ensure that every girl returns to school this academic year equipped, confident, and ready to learn.
