Project Pikin

Project Pikin is a child rights organization based in Sierra Leone that focuses on empowering girls. As a girl-centred organization, we facilitate access to quality education, weekly mentorship programs, life skills training, menstrual hygiene management support kits, and support families to ensure the maximum impact of the program on girls. Our team is 100% women-led and is committed to changing the long-standing patriarchal narrative by creating a society where girls have access to the same opportunities as boys. As we aim towards tackling gender inequality through education and radical inclusion, Project Pikin currently runs a school sponsorship scheme, which enrols deprived girls into schools and ensures they stay in school, impacting over forty girls in nine different communities across Sierra Leone. A big part of Project Pikin's work is supporting the underprivileged girls we work for with menstrual hygiene and sexual reproductive health education. We also help them with menstrual hygiene management supplies every month as we notice that the lack of such supplies threatens their education.
